hi
wanted to build an above ground pond out of 4X2 and 18mm ply and then line it with a pond liner .its going to be between 12 - 16 ft long by between 6 - 8 ft wide and 4 ft deep.was planning on having the spacings between the uprights at approx 200mm with 4X4 corner posts with 4X2 length of total pond as top and bottoms in one piece.spacewill be insulated with celotex or polystyrene depends on final budget .outside will be clad with some form of cladding.filter will be pump fed with gravity return.
will be work okay please?didn`t want to go to exspense of concrete blocks etc as budget won`t be massive i`m afraid
cheers

An illustration would be of help here (paint of google sketchup). I would consider outriggers to add strength to such a long expanse.

4 X 2 material sounds like it won't be very rigid at those lengths. May have to price compare the concrete blocks vs. Lumber.
