Pond Canister for 300g?

Just wondering if this pond bio-filter http://sunterrausa.com/filtration/product/300106 would work for a 300g tank? I know I need to get the pump still, but my local store had one on clearance sale. I got the 300107 w/ the built-in UV sterilizer..

I like the idea of being able to backflush the canister...If you plumb the hose right, you can water the garden while taking out water during a water change...The UV feature is nice as well.
I'd still make it just one part of the total filtration system.
BTW what did it cost after the sale?

Excellent Price for a UV by itself...add a back-flushing canister?..for 60clams?....Excellent deal for sure...
