Where the gators are
so i applied my final coat to my plywood build last sunday. from first to last coat was about 4 days. for the size of my tank and the amount of coverage in a gallon the thickness is just under 40 mils thick. i live in central florida and its been in the 70s to 80 the past week.

so heres the real question. what are your thoughts on adding water after letting it sit for a week? should i wait or do i have the green light to fill?

thanks in advance

I'd fill it up. I know after my final coat I didn't wait a week. I seem to recall it was 3-4 days. I know when I changed out my bulkhead fitting to overflows it was more like 2 days tops.

yeah i remember you having that problem. you didnt have to re-paint it again did you? yeah i was thinking a week would be good since its in a screened in porch so its been uot drying.

thanks for the input

no disrespect to Ross but does anyone else have an opinion on this?

I'd let it dry for a few days longer then what people recomend condesering that there is really no real hurry to finish it up and it will most likely last longer if it has more time to cure.

the thing is. i really need to get this up and running. my RTC has really no room in my 60 hex anymore and needs out asap. at a growth of an inch a week hes not gonna have much room to move around. if the PC would of came in when it was spose to i would of waited 2 weeks to cure but i just dont have the kinda of time now.

yeah i just feel bad for the poor guy. gettin a little too stressed in his current tank. his skins been shedding like a snakes would.

thanks for the comments

The issues I had didn't have anything to do with curing time. All of my issues came from the PC not playing well with silicone. Once I got that figured out things went fine. I went back and checked my thread and I put the final coat of PC on on the 9th and filled it on the 15th. I did burn my tank lights to help dry the PC.

No, I didn't have to repaint the tank when I made the change. I just had to lower the water level and then cut the back of the tank, add the overflow boxes, and secure them with screws using PC as an adhesive. It was "interesting" to say the least. I am surprised this change didn't leak!
