This may sound like a silly question, but I just thought I'd check before using it on my livestock. I was at the fish store the other day and decided to get the large bottle of Laguna Pond Conditioner instead of the usual Hagen. My reasoning was that it conditions twice as much water for the same price and with large 130gallon water changes 3-4 times a week I was tearing through the other stuff. In an effort to hopefully save money I went with the stuff made for ponds. I just wanted to make sure this was safe to use in my aquarium (my gut says yes, but just wanted to check) and also is anyone uses it on here. Thanks in advance.

I have always used pond conditioner (dechlorinator) as like you say its a IvIonster consentrate! It can save you a fortune on small tanks. i had a bottle which lasted a year maintaining several small tanks! I never had any issues using it! and as extra reassurence....... my lfs uses it in there display units and QT tanks

Thanks SRIDENZ. I figured it would be fine (what makes a pond fish so different than any other fish?), but I just wanted to double check.

should be safe, and your point exactly there is no difference in pond fish vs. aquarium fish.

The only thing i would say is that when doing small amounts of water the dose is very hard to measure. I used to add just a few drops to dose about 20 litres of tap water.

i emailed a shop about this, it was a different dechlor but more or less the same. the shop said that its just a stronger concentrate and is exactly the same stuff as the regular aquarium prime.
however, when he emailed the manufacturer to see what they would say he told me the said that its not a good idea and when he enquired why seeing as the ingredients are the same they would not say.
he told me that its just a money making scheme, they lower the concentration and slap "aquarium" on the bottle's label and the price sky rockets.
they could never sell the aquarium grade stuff to pond keepers because it isnt very good value for the water volumes concerned.

once my 2L bottle of prime is finished i will be switching to the pond prime.

pond prime is the same as regular prime, the dosage is different because the application is different (ponds have more surface area or something like that)

I have a big jug of Pond Prime that I've been using for several years. I don't use it often because I have a reverse osmosis filter. The label on the back says it's twice the concentration of regular Prime so you're supposed to use half as much. But you're supposed to use twice as much if you have chloramines so it cancels out...
