Went to home depot today to get pea gravel for my 125 and was checking out the pond stuff (wish my parents would let me build one) and saw a filter for a 750g pond. I was planning on getting a Fluval FX5, but would i be able to use http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc...splay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053

Just thought that since it is cheaper then an FX5 that does up to 400g, why not something that does 750g for less money?

it would work for sure. check and see what media comes inside it. fluvals, reina, etc come with media that would not come in a pond filter pump. the actual filter pads might only be a certain percent while aquariums come with stages like 20 30 40 percent . also you might want carbon. ammo chips, bio balls, bio rings... i build my own canister filters for around 70 bucks that move 1200 gph where others are 200-400 bucks and only pump 3-400 gph.

........so.. Like God created the earth, you created a $70.00 canister filter that turns over 1200gph...
