Can't find any info. on the possibility of using a pond filter on a 700-800 gallon tank.

Any feedback would be awesome! Just wondering if it would be a good idea.

the search function is great. you cant have used it at all because if you type "pond filter" into it, 3 threads immediately stand out with your subject in the title. dig deeper into other threads and there are more.
dont ask people to do all the work for you.

on the subject, yes it can be done but you will need a pump to use them because most do not come with pumps built in like regular aquarium filters.

I've used a Bio Force 2000 Pressurized Pond Filter to filter indoor tanks for about 5 years...

If you use the search feature looking for "BioForce 2000" you will find a handful of threads where I have shared my experience in great detail.

If you come up with questions I haven't already explained elsewhere I'll gladly respond.

Why not? Pond fish need clean water too!! How about a fluidized sand bed bio filter? Enormous bio capacity and comparitivly cheap. There are also polybead filters for ponds with built in UV sterilizers. If you can treat a 1000g pond with it I think a 700-800g tank would fit right in that catagory.

Outdoor ponds are destine to get direct sunlight which usually results in green water... the UV lights on pond filters are designed to remove greenwater but are not designed to irradicate parasites or any of the other finer benefits that UVs are known to offer...

I suggest saving the few bucks and buying a pond filter without a UV light when using it on an indoor aquarium...

Just picked up a pond filter last week. We'll see how she goes. Currently looking into a 450 GPH inline pump. Hardest part to find so far.
