Pond filters???

Has anyone here ever used pond canister filters on there tank?
They seem alot cheaper than alternatives made for tanks.

I think pond filters are a like mangum canister filter when using the micron filter. they are nice because if you follow cleaning instructions you can you the filters indefinately.
