Ok. I have a 3500 gallon koi pond set up in a very formal style. only problem I have is keeping it clean. Right now the only filtration on it is a large skimmer and bio-balls in the waterfall. I have a 100 pound sand filter I think I could put in line on it, but would a pool sand filter work for pond like this? btw The pump is a 3000gph pump.

What's the color and temp. of the water?

right now its at 60 degrees still warming from winter and is clear. no nitrates detectable by drop test. it gets a lot of algae in the filter though
