i am building a indoor pond with a 300 gallon rubbermaid for my koi..i was wondering if i put the return hose thru the drain hole in the bottom of the rubbermaid will it effect the return rate or not work..i know how fluval stresses the fact o f the hoses be higher then the cann...will it work or will i have to just run the hoses over the top....thanx kel

It's the same head pressure either way so as long as the water line is above the top of the can it shouldn't make any difference, other than the chance of draining the whole thing if the plumbing springs a leak.
