Pond Heater vs Aquarium Heater

Does anyone have any experience using a pond heater in an aquarium/indoor pond?
Cost per wattage wise, pond heater/de-icers seem to fare better than aquarium heaters.
Other than the looks, what are the pros and cons of each?

A submersed heater will impart practically all the electrical power it consumes into heat energy regardless if it is made for a Aquarium, pond or water heater.

I've never seen one like that. Well, didn't notice maybe. My pond heaters just click on at freezing point and off when there is no ice in its vicinity. It doesn't heat the pond. If that device can keep a pond at 80 in 70deg weather that's awesome!
