Start searching is this forum....

You should have plenty of ideas in no time.

What sort of fish do you want in he pond , because if it's Koi or Goldfish then you probily wont need a heater .

Google pond ideas/ designs/ pictures, Ect . and also search this site as there is loads of people with ponds which have great info about them .

If your winters get cold and you want a rtc then you are looking at some money. You would probably need to look at hot tub heaters or a pool heater that is oversized because you will need to keep that water close to 80 degrees. I would also look into some kind of cover to hold the heat in. I had actually thought about doing a heated pond until I saw the cost. Our winters average 20 degrees here. I was going to do a 400 gallon enclosed pond in the garage with all the heaters in it and have it piped to the pond outside so that they constantly recirclulated with each other. The whole idea was too costly for me.

Solar water heating...you do have sun there right? :D I and others posted some stuff on this before (I posted a pic of one a guy built out of old wine bottles).

In cold weather the biological part of the filter dies around 55*F (very limited below 65*F) so it's going to be mainly mechanical and gas exchange during the cold season.
