The Land where Fish Rule!
What fish would be able to survive a Pittsburgh winter, and be good pond mates for 3 Channel catfish? I will be build a pond in the spring for my cats and wondered what else would be able to survive here. Not sure on size yet, but maybe something like 10 by 10 and 3-4 ft deep +/-. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Koi, goldfish, natives.

First off, I apologize for digging up this thread, but I gotta reach out to help someone who lives in the same general area as I do.

Make the pond at least 3' deep; 4' deep is even better.

As far as fish go, it all depends on what you plan on using for filtration and the number/maximum size of your preferred fish species. I recommend fish that you would find in the local rivers such as SMB; sunfish are also a good addition because they help to feed the other fish when they breed.
