Hi,

I noticed my mini pond has a leak. Some random plant was growing on the side and it's roots were growing under the pond and for 2 days I noticed the water real low. And I could see the dirt damp on the side of the pond so I know it is a leak. Anyway, I removed the plant and dug down a little and have located where the water is coming from. There is an inch crack into the pond. I got some duck tape I am gonna use to try and hold it meanwhile. But I need to know is there a type of glue or putty I can use to patch this up, that is also fish safe?

I was at walmart and some something called gorilla glue. Said it was waterproof too but didn't know if it would be toxic to fish. This is an active leak though, not just a few drop here and there it's coming out steady. But it does slow down if I play with it a little.
BTW the pond is made out of plastic it is a rubbermaid 55 gallon bin. Any help is appreciated.

Thx

Maybe try some P&L Roofing and Flashing Sealant or maybe silicone? I've seen people use the P&L sealant to seal up their bottom drains to the liner so it should work and is fish safe.

EPDM pond patch. they are a lil patch with adhesive on one side. would be ready to fill back up in 10min. look on ebay or a local pond shop. maybe even lowes has them though they would be more expensive

I'll check it all out. But I need to know if any of this will bond to damp/wet surfaces. If not, could I use some type of puddy to hold the leak, then glue or patch afterwards?

The pond patch kit should work even if it's damp...though get it as dry as u can

Anyone hear of " water weld". It's a putty and says it can be used underwater and bonds to wet surface. I am just unsure if it is fish safe. I found some EPDM pond stuff, but no patch kit. The puddy I got says "drinking water safe" on it.

i forget what it's called but it's an epoxy putty plumbers use to patch holes in drain pipes and such. it can be applied underwater and it's tough as hell, but it isn't meant to bend.

I think you may be talking about the puddy I have. It's called water weld. I am holding up though cause I wanna make sure it is fish and plant safe.
