.
cool. ordered some.

pond prime is the same as regular prime since ponds are open systems, Seachem believes that the greater surface area allows the toxic elements Prime neutralizes to naturally gas off on their own, so, the Pond Prime instructions tell you to add LESS per gallon than you would to an aquarium with the "regular" non-Pond Prime. IM quoting this from someone who supposedly called and talked with seachem

here is a quote fom a seachem rep on a different website To clear any confusion or doubt, Prime and Pond Prime are indeed the same liquid formula. The dosing and labeling differ merely as a matter of focus toward use. The surface area in ponds allows for a dramatic difference in the need for dose volume and thus explains the difference in dose on the labels. Hoping this helps to resolve and questions.

Actually, Pond Prime is not more concentrate than Prime. It's just that pond is open surface/area, which helps with the chlorine evaporate rate, thus, pond water doesn't require as much Prime added as aquarium water. I believe it said so on the bottle. If the price on Pond Prime is better Prime, than just get the Pond Prime, but use it at Prime rate for aquarium. It's like the Coralife UV and the Pondlife UV are technically the same, but the price on Coralife UV is slightly higher, because it includes the converter from 1" hose to 3/4" hose, while the Pondlife UV doesn't. ;)

You beat me to it! :D

thanks guys!

just a thought, would the large turnover/trickle through a wet dry filter make the surface area greater since most pons don't turn over that much usually? i'm not saying i will decrease my dosing, just food for though...
