Hello,
I am building a 7ft wide 10ft long 5ft deep max and around 2-3 ft deep all over pond for largemouth bass. Dont worry this pond will hold AT MOST 2 largemouths plus some fathead minnows and possibly bluegill. What I want to know is if my Georgia Red Clay can hold all this water back. I posted this on the native fish forum but wanted to double check to make sure the clay could hold the water before i dig this thing. I will be adding Plants to try and calm the silt down, the pond is at the bottom of a slope ( not big enough for a hill) but i am going to put rocks and plants down to stop the water from making this a chocolate colored pond. Also looking at making a Bog Filter not 100% sure on it yet but i am looking into it. Do my plans sound good for a first time project?
Thank You All

The pond will always be cloudy w/o a liner. The plants will help w/runoff, but it will hard to have crystal clear water.

my goal is to mainly grow monster bass and release them in my uncles pond. Its private dont worry. And woudl cement be a good alternative? Or would a good old liner do the trick? I want to spend little money and the only thing i'd really spend money on is cement, a liner and the fish of course ;)

Liner is cheaper than concrete.

Def. do the bog filter. It will help with water clarity and quality.
