I have a 30 gallon with a Whisper 40 Filter and was just put in a 210 gph pond pump. The fish seem to be allright and really enjoying the added water movement, I just wanted to ask on here to make sure I wasn't making a big booboo.
Thanks :D

i don't see how it would hurt anything, prolly keeps the crap off the bottom and in the filter so it's out of the tank. so you have the pump hooked up to any form of added filtration?

No it's just in there, pumpin away, I cleaned it really well before I put it in and ran it through seperate clean water to remove anything inside. Would I need filtration.

no, so your using it as a power head. that's fine. just make sure no one gets sucked in.

exactly
it might be bad if someone were to get chewed up by the impeler

nah this should be fine

Yea you should be fine, your tank will look really clean cuz nothing will settle on the bottom probably.......

The tank has been WAY cleaner. It's nice. None of my fish are small enough to worry about getting sucked in, the feeders for my Payara got knocked around a bit by it but that stopped pretty quickly :D
