I have a pond that is about 4'x6' and about 3' deep. As of right now it has 2 black bullheads about 3" long, and 1 mirror carp about 3" along with 1 bullfrog tadpole and 15 leapord frogs taht have jsut turned into frogs. Im thinking of getting about 2-3 dozen fathead minnows and about 4-5 small (4-5") comet goldfish from the baitshop. Well lets here your suggestions! I will soon be building a filter out of a 5 gallon bucket.

You could add a koi (mayyyybe 2) as a showpiece, or you could add some more natives. An albino channel cat would look really nice, as would some bluegill, sunfish, crappie, or maybe a couple of gar?

Shortnose, spotted, and longnose could all survive the winter (provided the pond is kept mostly free of ice), although a longnose could end up being a little cramped in there once it got fully grown.

I had native in there and Im kinda bored of them (unfortunately) and im not sure that a koi would last in there when its full grown, the albino channel cat is definately a possibility.. but I was thinking of something more colorful

Like I said, I think one koi could be ok, even full grown. It would be pretty cramped though.

What about fancy goldfish? You could fit a few of those in there, along with comets. And maybe a couple of turtles?

I think Im going to get comets from the baitshop and a albino channel cat for the pond. Sound good dont it?

The colors will look good. I wish I'd had a chance to toss my 14" albino channel cat out in my pond before it died...

Same here but mine was 10".. Im going to get another to grow it out though.

Search craigslist for 55 gal. barrels. Make that into your filter instead of the 5 gal bucket.
