Hello,

I'm considering building a pond but I can't find any volume calculators conducive to my dimensions. Can anybody calculate for me?

Dimensions are:

120" by 28" by 144" by 108" and its 24" deep.

How many koi could I fit in here?

I could, but I don't understand those dimensions. Is it like this (sort of) with one short side and 3 long sides?

You can't get the volume (easily for me anyway) unless you have the angle measurements. If you have the lengths and 2 of the angles are exactly right angles, it should be fairly easy. Sorry, haven't needed geometry since I was in junior high.

I also trying to understand your dimms then we can give you an accurate volume.

Is it kind of L shaped? one side being 120x28" the other 144x108" and all 24" deep?

Shaped exactly like your picture. 2 90 degree angles like you said.

The simple way to calculate voulme in gallons of a rectangle is LxWxD divided by 230.4 (measurements in inches)

for example a standard 120G tank is 48x24x24" so 48x24x24/230.4 = 27,648/230.4 = 120

This shape although complicated looking can be thought of as half of a rectangle, I was going to try to explain this then thought a drawing would make it simpler ...

So the volume is 850G

Woah thanks! But my volume would only allow for 2 koi at the max right? What would the volume be if I went 36" or even 48" deep?

I'm not sure about how many Koi, I know my maths but not CW fish :)

At 36 deep = 1275G
At 48 deep = 1700G

Anything under 48" deep isn't gonna hold Koi anyway. If you do the 48" I say 4 Koi, 6 with extremely good filtration.
