hi i want to build a new large pond where my preform pond is.

so what cheap solution is there to look after my fish , newts ect while Im working on it . im 14 and this will be on a very tight budget.

I used a trash can once as a temporary holding tank but I wouldn't do this for long, Keep in the shad and I would recommend a air rater in as well.

Garbage cans are cheap, but a lot of fish will foul the water fast. My girlfriends father cleaned out his pond this past weekend. He put around 27 goldfish in the 1-5" length. I told him to put a small pump from a fountain he has at the bottom. He did and only had the fish in there for 16-18 hours. He lost three fish in that short amount of time. Bigger would have better. The more volume you can afford do it. Baby pools are cheap. Put some kind of areation in there as well. If the fish are to stay in there long, (weeks) do some water changes also.
