Pool filter sand?

Ok, went to Home Depot and picked up a few bags of pool filter sand this morning. Questions:

Is this sand always sold wet?

One bag has a bit of green sand. It looks like ink or dye rather than algae but I am not positive. The other has some darker brown which appears to be mud? Anyways, anyone else experience this with pool filter sand?

Not normally sold wet, but if stored outside some bags of sand have holes in the bag that will allow the to get wet... Just make sure you rinse it repeatedly before you put it in your tank.

NO I get my pool filter sand from HD and it has always been a light tan through and through. I have pick up some bags that were moist but not wet or muddy. BTW sand + H2O does not = mud so...... do what you wish but i would take it back.

Took it back. I want black sand but think I will go for black gravel for now.

I think you sjhould get tartan sand!

I have flourite black sand in my 33 gallon... cool stuff but it's spendy and dirty as hell when you first get it.
