Pool Filter Sand

I was wondering if i can use pool filter sand aqua quartz in my 55 gallon fish tank. Is it Safe?

Don't know about the exact brand, but most pool filter sand is pretty safe to use. It is usually inert, so won't affect your water quality. I have pool filter sand in my tank and have had no problems with it. It is a bit coarser than play sand but still looks quite nice.

What grade of sand did you get?

Ummm, can't remember, it was about 2 years ago and my memory isn't quite that good. I know it is fairly coarse, but thats about it sorry

Looks very similar, same colour as what I have, but different brand. As long as the label is accurate about it being non-toxic and inert, you should be fine with it.

Pool filter sand is fine. dont white white. little cream white is fine.

I use play sand that can be bought in home depot for $6. Not as white as pool filter sand but close enough.
