Most plants do fine with sand as mos nutrients are taken from the water column anyway. Some species may need some root tabs as noted above.

I don't know the dime toons in your tank but my 135 which was 6 feet long required a little over 100 lbs of pool sand to get the proper depth.

Cause a bag is about 50 lbs so if I get 3 I'll have 150 lbs
