Pool Filter (Strange Question)

Last year I bought a small swimming pool for my backyard. It is 900 Gallons. It came with a nice large pump/filter unit. I set the pool up and my entire backyard is pretty well shaded so I could not keep the tempatures warm enough to swim in it. I ran some chemicals thru the pool but never used chlorine. I used bauquicil products. Supposedly much safer for humans. I just got a 180 gallon aquarium and need a sump/filter setup. Could I clean out this filter from the swimming pool and use or modify it to work on my existing aquarium.

is it a sand filter or just a cartrigde filter? either way it will work just different setups.

Check the specs on the filter. quite often they are not designed to run 24/7 on the big box aboveground dealies. It also may have a hard time sealing if the water surface is higher above the filter than it was designed for.

Also pool pumps are usually very noisy. My wife would be pissed if I broght one inside.
