pool filter

i have a pool filter off of a small inflatable pool can i clean this real well and use it on my fish tank? This is all the info i have on the filter

500 gallon/hour filter pump and it takes size D filters

i am already using a wisper hob filter and a DIY wet/dry all on a 55.With more tanks to be added.

I thought using the pool filter to get fitration to the bottom of the tank. Put the suction and return at the bottom of the tank?

Yes you can use it...BUT...

A lot of these filters cannot attain any head pressure. They are more of a flow thru.

Set it up with a tank or 5g bucket with the length of hoses your going to use at the height (filter to floor distance) replicated and see if it will flow properly.

Mine won't do 2ft of head.

PUt the return at the top and suction at the bottom.
