pool pump for 50 gallone tank

I have a 1599 gph pool pump and want to hook it to a custom under gravel spray bar to create a river flow for my pirahnas does this sound crazy or has it been done does anyone have any pics of somthing like this thanks mainmanm

Is this a pump from a small softsided pool?

If so they can only handle about 2ft of head pressure so you'll have to set the pump beside the tank.

Now enough of that.

How is the flow going? How about a diagram
