Our HD does not carry it. Some of its pretty sharp, if you can feel it before you buy it that may be a good idea.

actal pool filter sand is ground round so it wont clog the pool filter. I've tried the home depot/menards stuff, and its too fine for me. The natural color stuff I got from Red Flint is perfect size and color IMO.

I went to several pool supply stores looking for pool filter sand before I got mine, and they had VERY rough pool filter sand that would likely cut fish. So you should still watch out for it.

i've gotten all mine from pool supply stores. Home Depot here had none.

Just make sure it says Pool Filter Sand. There are a lot of different kinds of sand they sell at home depot.

Personally, I went to a pool "manufacturing" company. They had every type of sand.
From countries all around the world. They also had ALL of the sand 3m makes. Huge freakin' warehouse full of it. My dad is their accountant so I got 200 lbs free. Bonus!

Chilean black.
