Poop sticking to filter not being taken in

Hey Everyone,

Does anyone have this issue? The poop is sticking to the outside of the filter cage rather than being taken it in? Also I have a dead spot directly underneath?

Any suggestions to help would be greatly appreciated.

Dead spot?....and almost certain that most members have had the occurrence of some form of waste matter stuck on the intake strainer due to the grate openings being too small.....get yourself a toothbrush or something similar to run along the grate and break up those pieces so they will be small enough to be sucked in.

If you can't get a filter cage with wider apertures, get creative with a Dremel tool, or something similar, and carefully "snip" out some of the cage bars.

Dead spots can be eliminated by the usage of strategically placed powerheads to stir up areas that are otherwise very still.
