i thought i had it all sorted, felt great having outsmarted my baby jar...having trouble of late regarding his diest..he only eats freezedried bloodworm or mealworm..he wont touch anything else. which cant be good. so last night i stuffed mealworm with 1mm pellets! chop the head off and you have a hollow tube to stuff! its the perfect crime...so i chucked a few in and he ate them no bother...but tried it again this morning and he's having none of it..he's now shaking the mealworm in his mouth until the pellets fall out and then he eats it. pretty amusing really. so what can i do to vary his diet.

you have one smart jardini.... well fool him again... give him regular way and then tommorrow one with the stuffed pellet... also you can dip food into vitamins juice..

Jardinis are pretty smart i think. Mine chew shrimp pieces until the shell apart from the meat and then just eat the meat and leave the shell for the bala :) One trick i use is to feed him shrimps w/shell on first when he's really hungry that he just swallows it whole.

this fish is making a fool out of me..he's swimmin round the worm dragging it below the surface till the pellets float out. even when there's just one pellet in the worm he knows!

Feed the pellets to the mealworms, then feed the mealworms to your fish.
Problem solved.

Well so much for that idea. lol

I tried that with my RTG, it stopped eating the worms!!

i maybe you should feed it whatever it likes to eat for now until it gets to ~5". then you can try starving it and getting it on mp and sticks.

i seem to hve found a compromise...i dont feed him first thing in the morning anymore..i wait until evening time when he's starving! so hungry in fact that he doesn't mind the pellet stuffed mealworms. i usually get him to eat two before he realises they were loaded with pellets.
