ok before i got rid of my lab cichlid i bought an oscar and left them in the same tank over night well the lab cichlid messed up my poor oscar bit his fins all up and i dont know if i did the right thing by putting in some fin and tail rot medicine advise please i am still a n00b at the fish tank thing

Kinda noobish if there is no rot than you wasted meds salt and raised heat would have done the job. Also Africans and south Americans not a good mix.

ya i learned the hard way but the lab cichlid is gone forever i traded him for a pleco
