Saw this guy struggling in the canal. Someone left their fishing line around and it got snagged.

he had the hook stuck in his jaw. I figure he went after it on by the shore there was little line left on it and there was a worm on the hook. Some dumbass probably cut the line loose after it got stuck. I got my pliers and pulled it out. He was alot bigger than pictured. Carapace about 9 inches from side to side.

Good Job Alex! I saved a Western painted turtle once that got tangled in fishing line. No one wanted to walk into the lily pads as they said there wasa bacterial bloom. I race back to my house grabbed my waders and a telescopic fish net and scooped it up.
