Just saw this on CL while looking for stuff. Sad to see oscars treated this way, especially having had oscars before. Probably one of the most mistreated fish in the hobby.

SAD! I hope who ever buys it know that those guys aren't meant to be in that tank and rehome them in a 150 at least! 40g, not even Enough for 1 cichlid..let alone 4-5 oscars!

...and,as if jockeying among themselves for space is not enough to deal with those fish have to maneuver around assorted ugly ornaments and castles that are hogging up even more space.

Poor things. :(

Oscars, goldfish and bettas take the crowns for most mistreated fish in the hobby I think. It saddens me when I see stuff like this, I rarely visit my mum because my sister has four HUGE goldfish in a tiny 80ltr tank and it makes me sick, no matter how much I tell her that its cruel (they can barely move) she just shrugs it off and says "they have water, what else do they want?" And all I think is 'I don't know, maybe some ROOM TO TURN AROUND!' But you can't argue with ignorance, or know-it-all teenagers for that matter ;)

You definitely could fit 2 more in. They should also add a rtc to clean the bottom as well as a pleco to help clean the tank.

regretfully all to common. its not a case of ignorance, that can be cured with knowledge, its bull headed IDNGAF there my fish, and whats the big deal they just fish and they look fine to me.

That's true to all animals, some people just flat out don't get it. They want something and it's just that, a thing/possession. I see it all the time when I go down to visit family in mexico. Not counting the strays, dogs chained up, no food, no water that have owners.

yes it is true to all pets. personally I do not see myself as a fish owner but a fish keeper. being a keeper denotes that you do what ever is necessary to properly care for them, an owner does what ever he wants with them, after all there mine, right?
