Oscars, goldfish and bettas take the crowns for most mistreated fish in the hobby I think. It saddens me when I see stuff like this, I rarely visit my mum because my sister has four HUGE goldfish in a tiny 80ltr tank and it makes me sick, no matter how much I tell her that its cruel (they can barely move) she just shrugs it off and says "they have water, what else do they want?" And all I think is 'I don't know, maybe some ROOM TO TURN AROUND!' But you can't argue with ignorance, or know-it-all teenagers for that matterSad to see oscars treated this way, especially having had oscars before. Probably one of the most mistreated fish in the hobby.
That's true to all animals, some people just flat out don't get it. They want something and it's just that, a thing/possession. I see it all the time when I go down to visit family in mexico. Not counting the strays, dogs chained up, no food, no water that have owners.regretfully all to common. its not a case of ignorance, that can be cured with knowledge, its bull headed IDNGAF there my fish, and whats the big deal they just fish and they look fine to me.
