I've been starving my Perch to get it to accept non-living food. Never got a chance to get it to eat that. I heard that they like it cooler temperatures. So I opted not to heat my tank for the time being. It's been getting colder the past few days. The temperature's been in the mid 60's I was thinking of putting a heater in the tank when I got home from work today. Well...today I got back from work and I guess it must've just died. Body still limp  I checked the temperature and it was 59F The lack of food probably added to it's untimely demise as well:(

So the lesson here is...have a heater even if the fish likes it cooler and maybe set the temperature in the low 70's.

Sorry about your loss.

I've found that is easiest to "train" natives to eat prepared foods by having others in the tank already trained. The noob will catch the drift from the others.
Hope it works out for you next time.

I was going to make a feeding video too because I don't see very many videos on Chinese Perch:cry:

That sucks! You gonna go for another perch? or........? maybe its too soon but I have some ideas ;)

Well...as much as I want another one, I've been wanting to downsize for awhile now. So this leaves me with 2 tanks now.

Sucks. But we've all been there. And chinese perch are the most stubborn fish I've ever seen.

sorry about the loss man:(

so sorry.
