I went to a pet store yesterday about an hour or so away from me and noticed a well underfed ray alltho i have no idea what kind he is i bought it. i felt bad for the guy they had him in a 55 gallon tank and looked to be starving his hip bones at showing BAD and tail is very thin he is very active. im gonna post a few pics in hopes you guys can help me out a little with what him might be? i did buy some black worms dumped them all in and he went to town on them.I woke up this morning and i dont see any in the tank. i am also feeding chopped up nightcrawlers but he doesnt really seem interested he might eat 1 or 2 small pieces maybe |________| big. thanks for the help and input.

P.S sorry for the crappy pics my camera sucks and my tank glass is filthy haha.

He is a orbignyi. I doubt he got that way in the pet store. Most of the time when they are that skinny they have come in from the supplier that way. Good sign he is eating. Just keep feeding and give us updates.
 
Looks like a possible Orb.with those markings around the eye,but would need better pics of the markings.Keep feeding him around the clock.Did you ever ask about how long they had him ?
 
Yes she told me a little over 2 months. I just felt i had to take action he is in poooor condition.
 
Wow 2 months ,surprised its lasted that long.Hopefully you get him eating real soon.

yeah she told me he has been there around 2 month. i bought all the black worms they had but wasnt much. he did eat everyone of them by the time i woke up this morning. and like i posted earlier he is eating nightcrawlers but he isnt hammering them only eating a few TINY pieces. but i suppose a little is better than nothing at this point. does anyone no what these usually sell for? i probably over paid for him but something had to be done.... is 130.00 to much?
