About 3 weeks ago, this guy got beat up pretty bad my my dovii so I moved him to another tank. His wounds pretty much healed.
Last weekend I noticed he has what appears to be popeye, except that he also has what appears to be a large bump and dark red bruise above the eye. The eye is not cloudy or hazy. The popeye, bump and bruise were not there when he got beat up. They all pretty much appeared overnight.
I moved him to a hospital tank, raised the temp to 82, added salt and treated with Maracyn 2 (minocycline) for 5 days, but there has been no improvement. He is swimming as normal , but eats sparingly and looks awful.
I have seen popeye before, but never like this with the bump and bruise above it.
The water parameters are good... 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 1ppm nitrates.
What is it and how do I treat it?
