Popeye treament anyone??

I have an Emperor Cichlid who has developed popeye in an eye that was damaged when the fish was younger. His eye sight was already limited or lost in that eye but now he has developed popeye.
I do twice weekly water changes and have treated the tank daily with pimafix.
Any other ideas??

Pimafix will do nothing short of preventing fungal growths which is very rare. Do daily water changes until it recovers. Popeye is usually associated by internal parasites, poor water conditions and injuries. What else are in the tank and how big is the tank?

fungus clear by tank buddies ~~~~~~~~~it worked on my blue gill i had in my first tank ever/in two days his eye was back to normal

The tank is a 55g growout with 3 Emperors, 2 Monoculus and a CK they are all about 5 inches now and are ready to move into their 240g.
Would a UV unit connected to the Fluval 405 help??
Say 36W....

Maracyn/Maracyn 2 both state they treat Popeye. Maybe give it a shot.
