So I got my first package from an online vendor today. Big thanks to B bigguapote for a quality pair of fish. Some difficulties with FedEx aside I've enjoyed it. So here's a few pics, I'll try to get better pics of the fish tomorrow evening, lights are off today to lower the stress. Stress from shipping delays and errors has them washed out.

What kind of fish did you get? Well, I know it is a cichlid but what kind? ;)
Jeff Rapps from TUIC has superb fish, I am looking forward to ordering from him again it's been years.
Just waiting for him to get some of the fancy plecos I want, the catfish I want, and also some geo suris.

You're supposed to guess lol hence the "what's in the box"

I'm going to guess Heros Efasciatus and Acarichthys Heckelli

Gonna be waiting quite a while if you want G. surinamensis, unless you settle for g. dicrozoster. Surinamensis are next to impossible to come across nowadays.

As for my guess... Andinocara somethingorother?

Oh LOL.... I'm going to say it's something in the acara family. To me it def has an acara body shape.

Damn, that sucks! Oh well, but he has a lot of other good geophagus in stock.

Gourami was first and closest, I tried for some pics but they're still quite shy. They are if Jeff sexed them correctly a pair of Choco. I'll have pics sooner or later, ime w/acaras they take about a week to settle in and start begging at the front glass at about two weeks. I'll post pics as soon as I can. Way more color today than yesterday and looking great.

Me too, the first time he got them but was too poor to get them and he sold out just as I was able to get them. Little more expensive the second time around but well worth the wait.

A little update, I was watching them sneak out and eat this morning and noticed the one I believe is a female had a bit of fin damage so I've added a bit of aquarium salt to help her heal. I have melafix but want to keep away from meds as much as possible. She's got that convict stripe look too which is kind of funny although I think it's stress markings.

Update: despite the both of them hiding 24/7, I noticed a little fin damage on the female 3 days ago. I put a divider in and must have missed a hole and the male got by while I was at work. I came home and he had completely stripped her fins and put a largish scar on her head. So I fixed the divider and separated them again and added a little melafix in hopes of not stressing her anymore. She passed last night unfortunately. Hopefully I'll have funds next time Jeff gets them again and I'll try to get 3-4 females for him. So the one I think is a male is doing well, his poop looks good and no external problems that I can see. Here's some pics, sorry about the blue tint I like to keep it bluish for new fish, I think it helps keep them calmer than plain white.
