Howdy, and welcome to MFK

Since you are a metric guy: Florida gars get about 1.30 m long, that's longer than your tank .... So you should either plan ahead and know where to put him afterwards, get a (much) bigger tank to start with, or maybe you should look into other gar-like fish. Boulengerella maculata grows to about 30 cm, which is still pushing it for what I suspect to be a 120 cm tank. There is also Xenentodon cancila, which grows 40 cm. If you truely want gar-like fish, I really recommend a bigger tank. Bigger is always better anyways ;)

And don't just go bigger in length on a new tank. Your 50 gal is probably only a foot wide. Some of the fish you've chosen need a lot of turning room. For gars and the knife, which can't bent too well, you need to provide a tank at least twice their adult size in tank length and 1.5 times the adult size in width.

Just want to second that, your tank would be too small for one Oscar alone. Also, please do not spam.
