Tonight my boyfriend and I cleaned and moved our 10 gal nano tank with a GPS, Clown fish and Porcelain Crab.. We used half the old water and half fresh salt water. When we put the fish in they were fine. When we put the crab in it almost seemed like he froze up for a min, but then ran and hid and started exploring the new live rock set up. We left for a little over an hour and when we came back the crab wouldnt move and had his claws out as well as his filter feeders (unsure of what they're called). His tail was out and it looked like his shell split between the tail and back shell. He wont move at all tho.. we dont know alot about the molting process, could this be him molting? Or could this be death by shock? (maybe not acclimating enough?) Do they stay still as they molt? Id appreciate some more info on this crab.. I havent been able to find much info about molting or shock.. Thank you.
