I'm considering getting one for my 75 to go along with a Jack Dempsey and 4 silver dollars. I've already check out the planet catfish guide but I'm still going to see what the community thinks about them. so hear are my questions.

1: How active are these guys?
2: Are they aggressive or territorial?
3: Do they like to school/shoal or enjoy being with their own kind?
4: Any specific diet recommendations other than just the regular catfish stuff?

thanks for any info or experiences guys!

I think of them as larger versions of cories, same family.

1: How active are these guys? *** mine were very active all day long with short breaks they would micro-vacuum all the decor and every nook and cranny looking for anything edible.
2: Are they aggressive or territorial? *** mine were not.
3: Do they like to school/shoal or enjoy being with their own kind? *** it appeared to me yes, maybe not to the extent of cories but maybe I never had enough of portholes together, only 2-3 here and there.
4: Any specific diet recommendations other than just the regular catfish stuff? *** any and all it would appear that will fit in their small mouths.

What Viktor said, I would like to emphasize the small mouth, any hopping or porthole catfish will have difficulties with the typical food we give our monsters. Flakes and small frozen foods are a good choice for them.

Often, if a fish cannot handle a hard pellet, they have no problem eating a softened/soaked/presoaked pellet.
