I am currently building a 200 gallon acrylic tank measuring 70 X 27 X 24. I want to get everyones opinion on where I should locate the overflow boxes. I am torn between doing two of them 5" X 6" (one in each back corner) or doing one larger one 10" X 6" at the left side of the tank. I am leaning towards the one large box on the left side so I can have the return water coming in on the right side to create a right to left current.

two overflows are better than one, less chance of clogging and more intake power
you can always have 2 returns

two is the way to go...this is how my new system is...i have a diy 55g sump with a 12x12 filter floss pad over scrubbies on either end of the 55...this is ideal for the overflow box on both ends of the main tank.
