Sorry I but my digital camera sucks and these guys would barely hold still for a single moment. I tried capturing them for the past couple of hours now and everytime I turn on the light they are in constant motion about the tank. I think they are bleheri but not 100% sure because they also look like orientalis or channa sp. assam.

Also 3 of them have a spot near the end of their dorsal fin and that one of them does not. Does this have anything to do with the sex of the channa? I thought I read somewhere awhile back that in some species the spot, i believe it was referred to as an "eyespot", was only present in males.

What size are they?

How many are in the tank? If alot, they could be stressed and have changed color.

i must have posted incorrectly then. on my screen i see 3 photos in my first post. can you all see this:

there are 4 of them in my 55 gallon. they are in with 4 bichirs. then don't seem stressed. they've been eating well and swimming about.

there is no indication that the "dot" is only present in males. Currently i am putting my two groups of bleheri through a winter phase to try to breed them.

What size are those you have?

they are about 3-3.5"
