I have 11 pygocentrus nattereri (RBP) and what were the chances of them breeding ? There was a thread in the piranha section of the forum, which 2 paired together out of like 8-10 and decided to breed right in the end of the tank. Ofc they were extremely protective of them and fought out any that came close. You guys think that may be possible for my RBPs to do the same? Is there anything I can do to make the chances higher ? thanks in advance!

Not an expert but thinking of getting in the piranha business, what size tank do you have? I have a 75 gallon.

The chances of them breeding is quite high if in the right condictions. I suggest if you can you get a larger tank 100+. Either way there are ways to increase chances have you temp between 73-83F (i would personally go closer to 80F). Piranhas are quite hardy fish but still i suggest you keep the water as clear as possible. Make sure there is cover for the piranhas to go and hide. As a general rule the thicker piranhas are the females and the thinner one the males. When the piranhas loose all color they are ready to breed good luck!
