Ok, I've got a question for all you more experienced pike keepers. I have the opportunity to upgrade to a 125, a guy is looking to trade for my 75. Right now the tank just has my sp Venezuela and a couple cons. Is there any cichlid species that could live in a 125 with the pike? I'm really on the fence with this trade, trying to think if it's worth it and if i could put another fish or two in there it would really add a few perks to the deal.

You should be able to add a few larger fish with the Pike. I've always had good luck with other predatory cichlids and pikes mixing, usually in the Parachromis species like Jags and Mota's. Seem to go good with large pikes because they don't resemble each other so the aggression is keep low other then territory disputes, but they dont seem to see each other as competition or threats. Just my experience.

I keep three different Lugubris pikes with several Viejas, all sub adults in my 125 and I don't have
any aggro issues. Just use plenty of filtration and keep up on the WC's.
I would definitely go for it.

great, I always heard that they are so aggressive, but I guess thats just to their own species? then it looks like i'll try and pick up that tank!

how does the pike, red tiger mota, and jag sound together?

They should do alright with the pike, but I wonder how the RTM and Jag will do.

this is my 125
