I have a 75g tank with a Royal Knife, very small royal pleco, a 6" pike, and a 6" green severum, and a fire eel thats no more than 14".o

I am looking to make an addition to the tank...possibly a jaquar cichlid (but i know they get huge), a red severum (love em), never had a Texas Cichlid before but I'm interested, and I'm contemplating a Green Terror (haven't had one in 5 years). I REALLY want an ornate bichir but they get way too big, way too fast. Thoughts? Ideas?

**I am well aware that the royal will get very large too, but they are VERY slow growers at this size and due to the fact that they're not too active, I would consider him expendable if I had to.

the pike, pleco, and clown knife are all going to outgrow that tank. id say your well overstocked as it is. i wouldnt add anything else if i were you
what if he has one of the many likes that stay under 12"

the pike won't get bigger than 12" and plecos take years and years to grow, i'm not worried about the pleco at all. I love the pike, but I'm not attached, I could always swap for something else.

a pike belongs in a larger tank regardless of the size. the clown knife can reach 3' and needs at least a 300 gallon tank. and yes the pleco will grow slow, but then what? do you have plans for all these fish? what works now may not work tomorrow, so be sure to have back up plans and potential homes on stand-by for any fish that will eventually outgrow your tank or need to be moved because of aggression

well Royals don't get as big as Clowns, but I've actually been thinking about selling him anyway. I might just make the fire eel the centerpiece of the tank and just go with some nice, but smaller cichlids.

royals get the same size as clowns, which is 38"-42" max. buy selling him would be the best thing unless you buy a bigger tank. youve got some time before you need to get rid of him
