Sorry if this is a noob-ish question, but I can't seem to trust my own eyes. The pictures are a bit blurry because.. I couldn't afford a large fishtank and a nice camera at the same time. What I'm seeing is a red streak in one of the back fins of the Gar. Both have it, and both are about 8-11in. long. Their fins seem fine, not frayed and don't seem to be 'dissolving before my eyes'.
The Arowana who is about 19in. has what seems to be a black outline of his rectal(?) fin. His fins are frayed from recent transfers already, though, so is the black a sign of fin rot?
The only thing I can think of for the gar(since their fins aren't dissolving) is that maybe they ate something sharp, that caused blood in feces or something of the sort.. But that's probably not the case. The only thing they eat apart from feeders are freeze-dried krill.
What makes even less sense is I just changed the filters yesterday(Rena Filstar Xp3(x2)), and did an 80% water change last week..
Thaaanks in advance.
EDIT: The pictures make the water appear to have large chunks of whatever floating in it.. But it doesn't. Just dried water residue on the outside of the tank from fiddling with one of the Rena filters.
