okay, I have done my research on this site and others and I cannot get a definitive answer. here is my situation, I found one of my 2" yellow lab cichlids holding eggs, I have 3 other yellow labs in the community but I didnt see any of them chase her. I also have at 15 acei some big enough and aggressive enough to be the daddy, and I have a red zebra that absolutely dominates the tank. here are my questions:
1) is it possible for close cichlid breeds such as mbuna to reproduce?
2) will the fry be sterile?
3) are the eggs even fertilized? is it possible for her to be holding sterile eggs?
