I got a couple convicts, 1m 1f who I think are spawning. They’re hiding and guarding a log. I just fed the tank and the male came out of the log and ate then went right back in, and the female never came out. The male is chasing my bala sharks away very aggressively when they swim by the log and the male is constantly on guard watching out both ends of the log and watching the hole thats in the top of the log. This is spawning right? They were moving around in there doing something very quickly but. I couldnt see inside the log very good.

I cant get a pic of the female in the log, it goes deep inside the back of the log.
How big is your tank? You are about to see how ruthlessly vicious a pair of "little" convicts can be. I have seen a 3" pair with fry kill a 12" midas cichlid in 4' 120gal tank

Sounds like breeding to me. Very defensive of the log. Running everything off. Yup probably have a spawn in there.
Oh geez lol. Its a 90g, but I do have a 75 gallon and a 60g. I can put the victs in one of those. When i took those two pictures, they both double teamed my Oscar and bit him twice, hungout for a split second (fortunate enough to have enough time to get the pics lol) then they flew back in the log. I didnt know they can spawn at this size. The mysteries in the fish world continue to amaze me everyday LOLHow big is your tank?
