When feeding rays market shrimps, do you leave the shells, tail or head on. I usually take all the shells off the shrimp. Also I have one ray that eats shrimps, and one that does not. How do you get rays on shrimps. these worms are starting to get really expensive as he gets bigger..

Don't feed him worms and I'm sure he will catch on. Also you should def remove shell

Ive fed my rays alaskan whole shrimp with heads, shells and tails on and they do fine. Mine even know to crack them open and get the meat out. Leter when they are done, I take the shells and extra stuff they didnt eat out.
As for them eating shrimp, its really up to the ray. I have one still after almost 2 years that will not eat shrimp. Wont tought it cleaned and raw or in the shell, doesnt matter, will not eat it.

They will eat it all, it's good for them. If they start to 'peel' the food themselves, I'd start peeling for them so you don't have a mess to clean up afterward.

My ray wouldnt eat the shrimp w/ the shell and all. What he seems to like the most is the med. headless/peeled kind from walmart. To get him off of earthworms i took an idea from someone on here and put a hole a piece of shrimp and tied a worm to it so he had to eat both(takes a bit of practice :)). He seemed rather ticked off by it and tried to shake the worm loose but in the end he ate it and now just eats plain shrimp. I also cut up some worms and let it sit w/ the shrimp to get the flavor on the shrimp and that seemed to help too.
