I have been having some weird things going on in my tank lately, and from prevoious posts it appears that I have been advised that the tank may contain 2 problems:

One may be callamanus worms - which i was suggested to treat with Levamisole Hydrocloride

The other may be Fish teburclosis (spelling?) and I did some research and the only viable treatment at this time may be Potassium Permanganate - of which i know nothing about.

I really am at a loss of what to do. Should i treat for both? Can you treat them in the tank (there are like 30 some fish of guppies, platys).

Is it possible to treat for both? Will one chemical react with the other? I read that the potassium will destry the filter bacteria.....

Any help is greatly appreciated. You can see my recent posts that shows some of the problems with a few pics of the diseases.

Potassium Permanganate is common in Chemistry classrooms so check any local chemistry supply companies for it. If you are near a university or college, you can try to contact the chemistry deptartment.

Also, treat each disease separately. The nematodes will require at least 48 hours to treat. I'd give the fish a recovery period before starting the tuberculosis treatment.

It is a dissenfectant, but some research on the internet showed that you needed to disenfect the tank at 1:1000. The only thing i dont know is, do i do it with the fish in the tank? or.... do i destroy the fish and disenfect the tank? What if this isnt even TB? What if they give me TB? I should have never gotten into this fish keeping stuff.

Anyone want to buy a used Eheim 2026? I just bought it....
