So I'm tryin by some finally but this is all I can find that isn't to fine or in a huge quantity do u guys think one of these 2 garnet sands will make bichirs look good? One looks more purple than red

A bit fine for my taste. I think I am wanting the bigger stuff I posted. I use Peace river sand right now and it is a little bigger grained. I was just going to mix some garnet into that.
I no the sand u by at petsmart is good it's not fine and I bought some red sand once and it was so fine when the bichir burst into speed mode the sand was stored up in my tank for atleast 20 min an every time I did water. Hangs I had to stick the filter under my bath tub cause it was so full of sand .... I will never by any thing fine again it was a nightmare

I went ahead and ordered the small 5 cup amount of the stuff from that Tacomacompany on ebay. I have been in contact with them asking all kinds of questions and found they also sell in 25lb bags. I am going to see if I like this stuff before I buy any more. I want to mix this into my CaribSea Peace River sand to darken it up just a little.
I use 16/24 sandblasting garnet..... not too course & not too fine......garnet comes in all shades. reddish to purple-ish to black-ish..... it all works well..... I might just buy a ton and sell it to you guys by the cup!!! Bwahahahaha!!
